Terms of use

End User Licence Agreement (EULA). Last updated: 5 October 2026.

In one sentence. This agreement is between you and the publisher of Croc, not Apple, and governs your use of the app and any Croc+ subscriptions purchased through the App Store.

1. Purpose and acceptance

These terms form an agreement between you and the publisher of the Croc mobile application (“the app”). By downloading, installing or using the app, you accept them without reservation. If you do not accept them, do not install the app, or uninstall it if you already have.

They apply in addition to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, which also apply to you as an App Store user.

2. The publisher

The app is published by [à compléter : nom de l'éditeur], [à compléter : forme juridique et numéro d'immatriculation], at [à compléter : adresse postale]. Questions, complaints and support requests can be sent to croc.app.contact@gmail.com.

3. Scope of the licence

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app for strictly personal, non-commercial purposes on any Apple-branded product that you own or control, within the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

This licence does not transfer any ownership rights to you. You may not rent, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense the app, decompile, disassemble or reverse-engineer it except to the extent expressly permitted by law, or remove any proprietary notices.

4. Croc is not a treatment

Croc is a habit-tracking tool. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and does not replace advice from a healthcare professional.

Nail biting can be associated with injuries, infections or psychological distress. If it causes injuries, feels completely beyond your control, or is part of a wider condition, consult a doctor, dermatologist or psychologist. Using the app must never delay seeking care.

5. Your account

The entire app works without an account. Creating one is optional and free, and serves only to back up your progress and restore Croc+ on another device.

You can sign in with Apple or with a Google account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for actions taken through your account. You can delete it at any time in the app's settings; deletion is permanent and removes your data from the server.

6. Croc+: pricing, duration and renewal

The complete method is free. Croc+ is an optional paid upgrade that adds Shield, ninety days of insights, forty journal photos and every colour palette. Croc+ does not change the rules: there are no streak freezes, wildcards or ways to buy back a lost day.

Plans and prices

  • Monthly: €4.99 per month, renewed each month.
  • Annual: €24.99 per year, renewed each year.
  • Lifetime: €49.99, a one-time payment with no renewal.

Prices include all taxes for France. The applicable price is the one displayed in the App Store in your currency and region at the time of purchase. We may change our prices; changes apply only to future periods, after advance notice, in accordance with Apple's rules.

Free trial

You can try Croc+ free for seven days, with no payment card required, once per device. At the end of the trial, the app automatically returns to the free version and you are not charged. If you purchase a subscription during a free trial, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited.

Automatic renewal

  • Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically unless renewal is disabled at least twenty-four hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your Apple account is charged for renewal within twenty-four hours before the end of the current period, at the price of the selected plan.
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings on your device at any time. We cannot do this on your behalf.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for: the current subscription is neither interrupted nor refunded on a pro-rata basis.

7. Withdrawal and refunds

As purchases are made through Apple, refund requests are handled exclusively by Apple, through reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot grant or refuse a refund.

If you live in the European Union, you generally have a fourteen-day right of withdrawal for digital content. By requesting immediate access to Croc+ at purchase, you agree for performance to begin immediately and waive this right once the supply has been fully performed, in accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code.

8. Your content

The photos you add to the nail journal and the information you enter belong to you. We claim no ownership over them. If you use an account, you grant us only the technical licence strictly necessary to store, back up and return them to you, with no other use. We do not publish or share them, or use them to train a model.

How this content is processed is explained in our privacy policy.

9. Intellectual property

The app, its code, name, mascot, illustrations, text and visual identity are protected and remain our exclusive property or that of our licensors. Nothing in this agreement transfers those rights to you.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Bypass or attempt to bypass Croc+ verification or authentication mechanisms;
  • Disrupt the service, including through automated, excessive or abusive requests;
  • Use the app for an unlawful purpose or on behalf of a third party without authorisation;
  • Attempt to access another user's data or parts of the service not intended for you.

11. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but are not bound to provide uninterrupted availability. The app may be updated or modified, and some features may change. Accounts and synchronisation are optional services that may be suspended for maintenance; the app remains usable offline, which is precisely the purpose of its architecture.

If we discontinue the synchronisation service, we will give you reasonable advance notice so that you can keep your data.

12. Termination

You can end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the app and, if applicable, deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate your access to account services in the event of a serious breach of these terms, after advance notice except in an emergency or where legally required. Termination does not entitle you to a refund beyond what Apple's rules provide.

13. Warranties and liability

The app is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee that it will be error-free or produce a particular result: stopping nail biting depends on you, not on software.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of local data that has not been backed up, or interruption of optional services. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights, including the statutory conformity warranty under Articles L217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code and the warranty against hidden defects under Articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code.

14. Apple-specific provisions

The following provisions are required by Apple and apply to the app downloaded from the App Store.

  • Parties to the agreement. This agreement is between you and the publisher only, not Apple. The publisher alone is responsible for the app and its content.
  • Maintenance and support. The publisher alone is responsible for support and maintenance. Apple has no such obligation.
  • Warranty. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation, and any claim relating to a failure to conform is the publisher's responsibility.
  • Product claims. The publisher, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, its possession or use, including product liability, failure to comply with a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer or personal data protection.
  • Intellectual property rights. If a third party claims that the app infringes its intellectual property rights, the publisher alone is responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
  • Legal compliance. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated by the US government as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Third-party terms. You agree to comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app.
  • Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce it against you as a third-party beneficiary.

15. Governing law and disputes

This agreement is governed by French law, without prejudice to any more protective provisions of the country of your habitual residence if you are a consumer in the European Union.

If a dispute arises, write to us first: most can be resolved with a message. If no amicable agreement is reached, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge, or the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform. The competent courts are those designated by the ordinary rules of law.
